Job Title: Agri Trading Business Controller-Trade Accounting

Location: Stellenbosch

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Agri Trading Business Controller-Trade Accounting to join our team at Helen Wilson Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and expertise to our trading operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Accounting
  • Ensure the accuracy of trade accounting in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards for management reporting.
Financial Analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support trading units with insights into return on working capital and profitability, seeking opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.
Internal Controls and Compliance
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company.
  • Review and approve payments and credit notes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
Business Partnering
  • Act as a finance partner to various business units, providing financial insights and guidance.
  • Support operational and strategic initiatives with financial expertise and an understanding of trading economics.
Process Improvement
  • Obtain a deep understanding of all the systems and processes of the trading, operations, and finance teams in order to understand and be able to advise on best practice.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in trade accounting and operations as well as the operations and trading operations what impact trade accounting.
  • Lead and participate in projects to enhance financial systems and processes.
