Main Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Staff Unlimited Recruitment. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and initiating a sales approach that results in closing new business opportunities to meet or exceed individual targets in support of the overall company Road New Business target.

The Essentials for Our Heroes (Requirements)
  • Valid unendorsed driver's license with a reliable vehicle (mandatory)
  • 2-3 years of senior key account management and new business sales experience in logistics
  • Proven track record in prospecting for new business and meeting targets
  • Tender management expertise and ability to sell cross-silo solutions to C-level executives
  • Strong grasp of logistics and end-to-end supply chain
  • Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the existing client base in the local courier and distribution market for the assigned region, meeting set monthly and annual new business targets. You will also prospect for new business, cultivate a qualified leads pipeline, and convert leads into sustainable billing clients.

Key responsibilities include managing client relationships, providing monthly billing and financial reports to stakeholders, handling general administrative tasks, and keeping client data up-to-date. You will also be responsible for continuously monitoring competitors and industry trends, assisting in tender and proposal preparation, and innovating to create lasting value for customers.

Achieving monthly and cumulative targets, communicating and implementing signed business agreements with stakeholders, managing clients' debtor days within company requirements, and maintaining regular inter-departmental communication are also key aspects of this role.

Update and maintain the internal CRM system, achieve the expected client call ratio KPI as specified by your Manager, and provide day-to-day and weekly/monthly reporting as needed or requested by the Sales Manager.

Ensure client files are regularly updated in compliance with company procedures and Quality Management System. Fulfill any other duties as requested by Management.
