Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring optimal database performance, including SQL optimization and best coding practices.
  • Configuring new servers and databases to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Restoring data in case of any issues and ensuring that disaster recovery plans are in place.
Requirements
  • Technical Requirements:
    • Experience with SQL Server, Windows Server, and Linux.
    • Basic scripting knowledge: Bash/Perl/Python scripting.
    • Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
    • Basic awareness of other infrastructure technologies.
    • Good analytical and troubleshooting experience.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Flexible, open-minded, team worker with a friendly and pleasant personality.
    • Self-driven, able to work under pressure (deadlines).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Matric.
    • IT Qualification would be advantageous.
    • Industry-related certification.
    • 4 – 5 years experience as a Database Administrator.
