Job DescriptionQualifications
  • Matric (Grade 12) is required.
  • A Certificate in Technical discipline or Production-related fields (NQF 5) is essential.
  • A Diploma in Technical discipline or Production-related fields (NQF 6) is advantageous.
  • A Trade Test (NQF 5) is advantageous.
  • A Certificate in First Line Management (FLMP) (NQF 5) is advantageous.
  • The CCS Supervisory Development Program is advantageous.
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Production / Maintenance operations in a Manufacturing environment is required.
  • At least 1 to 2 years should be at a Supervisory level.
Knowledge and Requirements
  • Computer Literacy is essential, including MS Office Suite, SAP, and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Plant production and maintenance practices, procedures, and processes is required.
  • Sound understanding of compliance with applicable legislation, safety, and other related manufacturing regulations is essential.
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
Duties
  • Production Operations and Control: Achieve production targets through the optimum use and application of resources and skills.
  • Ensure production operational effectiveness, efficiency, and quality to achieve targets in accordance with timeframes/schedules.
  • Maintain open communication channels with relevant Departments to ensure the highest standards of product quality are manufactured.
  • Process and update all Production records and related documentation.
  • Maintenance Operations and Control: Ensure effective and preventative maintenance are performed on all plant/infrastructure/equipment as required, to limit potential failure and optimise production processes.
  • Coordinate first line maintenance to restrict or prevent plant/equipment downtime.
  • Raise job cards for all maintenance work required, including work permits.
  • Approve all job cards after maintenance work is completed successfully.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to housekeeping principles.
  • Compliance: Operate within controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of the company.
  • Identify and report risks or areas of concern to management within own department and area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent fruitless, wasteful, and irregular expenditure.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation to minimize risk, exposure, incidents, or damage to the organisation and environment.
  • Customer Service: Maintain effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external) towards rendering the highest quality of services.
  • Represent the company in meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and solve problems creatively while demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with company core values.
  • Staff Supervision: Ensure all employees have signed performance agreements.
  • Conduct employee appraisals and identify staff performance objectives.
  • Develop and implement action plans where necessary.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development of employees.
  • Address employee relations matters fairly and promptly.
  • Cost and Financial Control: Contribute to the budget preparation process.
  • Promote the effective and efficient use of financial and other resources to reduce costs.
  • Monitor and control expenditure against budget and report deviations to direct Manager.
