IT and Network Specialist

Job Summary:

DevFinders is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT and Network Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's computer networks and information technology systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement network infrastructures for medium to large-scale organizations, ensuring seamless communication, data transfer, and overall efficiency.
• Cloud Solutions: Maintain and optimize cloud solutions, including Office 365, Redstor, and Barracuda infrastructure for both clients and in-house systems.
• Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues related to Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Network Documentation: Oversee and document network schematics, ensuring that all network-related documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
• Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to facilitate and implement infrastructure and cloud projects, ensuring successful execution and satisfaction.
• Department Support: Act as the second-in-command to the Department Head, contributing to the growth and development of the department.
• Research and Development: Conduct research on new technologies and solutions that meet client needs and requirements, staying current with industry trends and advancements.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure that redundant systems are tested regularly and remain functional, maintaining a trusted and reliable infrastructure.
• Client Communication: Engage with clients directly, providing professional and courteous communication, both verbally and in writing.
• Flexibility: Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as necessary, to meet client support needs.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a 3rd line support role.
• Certifications: Certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field an advantage.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization technology, and cloud-based platforms.
• Previous Experience: Previous experience designing and configuring network infrastructures for medium to large-scale organizations.
• Networking Technologies: Experience with a wide range of networking technologies, such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and DNS.
• Networking Concepts: Sound knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WAN, and FTTP/FTTC.
• Router and Switch Configuration: Demonstrated understanding of router, switch, and access point configurations and diagnostics.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Flexibility: A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to provide support to clients as needed.
• Certifications: Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or ITIL are highly desirable.
