In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance guest experiences and conserve wildlife habitats.

Main Objectives:

  • Design and implement conservation programs to protect local wildlife and preserve natural habitats.
  • Lead and manage a team of field guides, ensuring high-quality service delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Conduct guided safaris, walks, and interpretative talks, promoting wildlife conservation and education.
  • Maintain accurate records of game sightings and collaborate with other departments to ensure successful conservation efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, partners, and suppliers to support conservation initiatives.
  • Oversee the upkeep of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are in top condition for use.

Requirements:

  • Field Guide qualification, or equivalent.
  • FGASA qualification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of guiding experience in a 5-star game lodge or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of local wildlife, flora, and conservation practices.
  • Excellent guest relations and hospitality skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Passion for conservation and eco-tourism.
  • Valid drivers license and PDP (PrDP).
