Job Overview

Vodafone seeks a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director of Public Policy to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of public policy strategies across Africa and South Africa.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement public policy strategies that drive business growth and promote Vodacom's interests in the region.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, regulators, and industry leaders.
  • Provide strategic support to the Chief Officer: External Affairs on public policy and regulatory matters.
  • Leverage synergies available within Vodafone and Vodacom groups to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze policy and regulatory issues affecting Vodacom operating companies.
  • Develop proactive strategies to solve existing challenges and drive business growth.
  • Provide world-class public policy and regulatory support to all Vodacom Group companies.
  • Manage a regional team of senior public policy and regulatory experts.

Requirements
  • Advanced Degree in Public Affairs, Politics, Law, and/or Economics.
  • 10-15 years' experience in telecoms, banking, or related highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to a team of public policy/regulatory specialists.
  • Ability to navigate a matrix organisation.
