Job Description

Staff Solutions is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our client's finance department in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years of experience dealing with accounts payable.

Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of clerks.
  • Create a work environment where team members can achieve goals and meet objectives.

Processing:

  • Ensure all processing deadlines are met.
  • Capture invoices and credit notes correctly on Pastel/Syspro.
  • Assist with processing when needed.

Reviewing Reconciliations:

  • Review reconciliations before submission to managers/directors.
  • Assist clerks with reconciliations as required.

Account Queries:

  • Maintain low account queries by assisting clerks when needed.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on account queries regularly.

Cashflow and Banking:

  • Manage cashflow for various entities.
  • Assist with SARB applications.

Stock Control:

  • Process daily stock movements and ensure accurate stock accounting.
  • Send out up-to-date stock reports that balance with physical stock.
  • Minimize stock-related queries by assisting clerks.
  • Provide regular feedback on stock queries.
  • Ensure correct stock costing and accounting.
  • Facilitate the monthly stock count administration.

Management Accounts:

  • Compile management accounts monthly.
  • Assist with intercompany bill backs.

Reporting:

  • Compile weekly management dashboards.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reporting requested by management.
  • Report on forward contracts entered into.

New Employees:

  • Assist in training new employees added to the team.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of clerks' performance.

Ad-Hoc:

  • Perform general ad-hoc duties as requested by management.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as required by Staff Solutions.
