About the Role:
The Prax Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing tax operations for South Africa and Botswana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all local and international tax regulations and laws. Prepare and submit all tax returns on time, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Support the Group Tax team on the tax implications of business decisions, including investments, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Ensure that transfer pricing policies comply with regulations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Assist in the preparation of tax-related reports for senior management, auditors, and regulators.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in tax-related roles, preferably within the oil & gas, energy, or natural resources sector.
- A degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A post-graduate qualification in tax (e.g., a Masters or professional certification like CTA, CA(SA)) is advantageous.
