Role Overview

AFGRI is seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriting Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with underwriting functions, ensuring that all administrative functions are processed in a timely and correct manner.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of financial regulations, and be able to operate within them. Additionally, they will possess a high level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with underwriting functions, including obtaining claim forms and relevant documentation
  • Register new claims within 24 hours
  • Daily processing, tracking, recording, and settling of claims
  • Daily capturing, updating, and storing of claims on the Cardinal administration system
  • Daily feedback to clients and relationship managers on claims progress

This is a mid-senior level, part-time role based in Centurion or Bethal, depending on the candidate's current location. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 qualification, FAIS accreditation, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the short-term insurance industry.
