As the Credit Risk Portfolio Strategist at TymeBank, you will be instrumental in evaluating, mitigating, and overseeing the risk-reward dynamics within the bank's lending product portfolio. Your role will encompass a diverse range of lending solutions currently available, including Merchant Cash Advances, Personal Loans, MoreTyme (BNPL), TymeAdvance (Salary Advance), Grantadvance, banking exposures, and sovereign holdings, with additional product launches on the horizon.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough performance assessments of the bank's credit portfolios, identifying emerging trends and potential risks while proposing effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Guide the strategic direction of the portfolio to enhance risk-adjusted returns.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to senior management, showcasing critical risk metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations.
• Oversee model risk associated with the bank's credit portfolio.
• Drive compliance with the RDARR framework and promote continuous improvements within the bank.
• Contribute to the effectiveness of credit processes and help define the bank's credit risk appetite.
• Ensure optimal credit cut-off strategies are implemented to maximize profitability over the medium to long term.
• Align the Credit Risk framework and related policies with regulatory developments, ensuring they are appropriate, effective, and aligned with the bank's strategic objectives while proactively managing portfolio and concentration risks.
• Participate in the formulation and execution of credit risk strategies throughout the credit lifecycle.
• Ensure that business lending plans are appropriate and aligned with expectations by reviewing and providing insights on budgets, business cases, new credit products, pricing, target market criteria, and marketing materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
• A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline, preferably complemented by a relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Over 7 years of experience in credit risk management, with a robust understanding of various models utilized in the credit value chain of high-volume portfolios. Experience across the entire credit value chain is highly advantageous, particularly in unsecured consumer and SME credit portfolios.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Analytical mindset with disciplined and results-oriented work habits.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives with enthusiasm.
• Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
• Solution-oriented approach with a willingness to explore innovative ideas.
