The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a vibrant institution dedicated to delivering exceptional education in finance. As a Senior Lecturer in Finance, you will play a key role in shaping the minds of future professionals in the field.

Job Overview

  • This permanent full-time position is located at the Main Campus in Bellville, WC ZA.
  • You will be responsible for facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in financial risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, and financial technology.
  • Conduct research and publish in financial risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, and financial technology.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Provide academic leadership and administration.
  • Undertake curriculum development and assessment.
  • Participate in community engagement and outreach.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in the field of finance or economics.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching in at least two of the fields of financial risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, or financial technology.
  • A record of quality peer reviewed publications, preferably in the field of financial risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, or financial technology.
  • A record of successful supervision of Honours and Masters level students.
  • Evidence of participation in community engagement.
