Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Branch Sales Consultant to promote Sanlam Retail Mass's products and increase market share through:

  • Providing sound financial advice and delivering exceptional client service in a branch context.
  • Creatng opportunities for client optimisation and cross-selling of value-added products.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Gaining and maintaining an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
  2. Understanding customer needs, financial goals, and means, and providing the right product(s) that satisfy these goals affordably.
  3. Continuously updating and informing customers of new products or changes in existing products.
  4. Validating client details in line with product and regulatory requirements.
  5. Conducting due diligence on clients to identify and flag potential risks.
  6. Managing own capacity to ensure daily appointments are prioritised while allowing time for walk-in clients.
In-branch Client Service and Client Retention
  • Responsible for servicing and managing all client profiles to ensure clients remain on the books.
  • Sending payment reminders, conducting follow-ups, and remaining in contact to address potential queries.
  • Managing and reporting on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up) by implementing controls and corrective actions.
  • Consulting with clients on alternative payment arrangements.
  • Resolving various types of client queries in the branch or escalating as needed.
Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Development
  • Remaining up-to-date with compliance and quality standards.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of registration and product knowledge.
  • Identifying risks and flagging potentially fraudulent activities.
  • Logging all activities as per regulations and standard operating procedures.
Monthly Planning and Reporting
  • Reporting on daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
  • Collating data on activities for weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Performing any ad-hoc requirements as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.
