About the Position:

The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, participating in internal audits and compliance activities, and performing general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping. This individual will also assist the Accounting team in creating financial reports, processing accounts payable and receivable, managing invoices, and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  2. Maintain and update financial records in accounting software, assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
  3. Support senior staff in financial analysis and budgeting, assist with audit preparations and provide necessary documentation
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff

Qualifications:

  1. BCom degree
  2. Prior experience in bookkeeping or administrative role
  3. Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles
  4. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  5. Knowledge of accounting software, such as Sage Pastel
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, good organizational and time management skills
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well in a team environment
