About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Theatre Production Specialist to join our crew at Crew Life at Sea.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless technical performances and events onboard our cruise ships. As a Theatre Production Specialist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating stage equipment, including lighting, sound, and special effects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Operations: Set up and operate all stage equipment, including lighting, sound, and special effects, for performances and events onboard the cruise ship.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Assist in the installation and maintenance of stage equipment and systems, troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during performances or events.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Entertainment team to ensure all technical elements of the show are executed flawlessly, collaborate with other departments, including Audio, Lighting, and Video, to ensure a seamless production.
  • Inventory and Training: Keep inventory of all stage equipment and supplies, report any shortages or damages to the Stage Manager, train and supervise any additional stage crew members as needed.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times, attend all mandatory safety and technical training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical theater degree or certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a theatrical or cruise ship environment.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of stage equipment and systems, including lighting, sound, and special effects, ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, proficient in operating and programming lighting and sound consoles.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, willingness to work long hours and irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
