We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Surgical Assistant (RN) to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Professionalism: Always maintain acceptable professional behavior, upholding the highest standards of integrity and respect in the workplace.

  • Infection Control: Demonstrate the ability to apply principles of sterilization, disinfection, and aseptic and sterile technique, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Education and Development: Improve and clarify knowledge of normal anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, staying up-to-date with the latest medical advancements.
  • Patient Preparation: Identify procedures needed to prepare each patient as an individual for the intended surgical procedure, taking into account unique needs and requirements.
  • Surgical Procedure Understanding: Demonstrate an understanding of the surgical procedure to be performed, anticipating the needs of OR team members and communicating effectively.
  • Anesthesia and Fluid Management: Understand actions and uses of anaesthetic agents, fluids, and electrolytes, recognizing patient responses and adjusting accordingly.
  • Wound Management: Understand principles of wound management, healing, and prevention of inadvertent trauma during surgical intervention.
  • Environmental Safety: Identify potential environmental dangers to patients through an understanding of surgical instrument functions, supply care, and equipment maintenance.
