About the RoleThis is a leadership position that requires an experienced Theatre Unit Manager to oversee staff, coordinate patient care within operating theatres, and ensure a safe and efficient environment. The successful candidate will have a solid background in theatre management, a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Main Responsibilities- Team Leadership & Staff Management: Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to team members.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth operation of the theatre department, maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
- Budget Management: Oversee the theatre budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Collaboration & Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members, departments, and stakeholders.
- Patient Experience & Safety: Prioritize patient safety and satisfaction, ensuring excellent care and service.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the theatre department's performance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or diploma in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical or theatre management role, preferably in a hospital or surgical center environment.
- Proven experience in leading teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, theatre workflow, infection control standards, and health and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with theatre management software, scheduling systems, and electronic health records.
