We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Saica Trainee to join our team at SM Squared Talent (Pty) Ltd. As a Saica Trainee, you will play a key role in supporting our financial services team in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in Audit Engagements: Assist in planning, executing, and finalizing audit engagements, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility and providing support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Communication and Progress Updates: Communicate and update senior team members on progress, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Meeting Preparation and Attendance: Prepare and attend meetings with target management teams, ensuring that all necessary information is presented and discussed.
- Report Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports, including financial statements, to ensure that all data is accurate and presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
- Accounting Frameworks and Policies: Select and apply appropriate accounting frameworks and policies, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Transaction Accounting: Account for the entity's transactions, including non-routine transactions, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Internal Relationships: Build strong internal working relationships across all services lines, ensuring that all teams are aligned and working towards common goals.
- Talent Acquisition: Contribute towards securing the best talent at the firm, ensuring that our team is equipped with the skills and expertise needed to deliver exceptional results.

- Grade 12: A Grade 12 qualification is required, with a strong focus on mathematics and accounting.
- BCom Accounting Degree: A BCom Accounting degree is preferred, with a strong understanding of financial accounting, auditing, and taxation.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to clients and stakeholders.
- Patience and Understanding: Display levels of patience and understanding, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
