Business Development Manager

Takealot, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing strategic partnerships to enhance our e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver on sales targets focused on acquiring quality clients
  • Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline with a focus on key strategic clients
  • Conceptualize and execute new client acquisition strategies
  • Perform needs analysis for potential clients
  • Provide feedback to Senior Management on sourcing strategies for new clients and service delivery for existing client partnerships
  • Manage data to create executable actions and report on findings
  • Work with operational teams to relay client needs or concerns to create executable actions
  • Work cross-functionally within the business to optimize client partnerships
  • Present to and build relationships with senior managers and clients
  • Provide national partners with weekly and monthly performance reports around agreed SLAs
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of client-specific KPIs, preparing and presenting partner performance review meetings to the TDT & Takealot business
  • Ensure client partners are accountable on all aspects of their agreed service delivery SLAs for continuous operational performance
  • Travel within South African provinces as required

Qualification & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma
  • 3 - 5 years solution sales experience, preferably in the retail and/or software solutions industry OR Proven track record of hitting goals and targets
  • Experience in generating leads through physical and digital means
  • Proven track record of delivering results in business growth and development or client acquisition
  • Competence in Excel (Google Sheets) & PowerPoint (Google Slides)
  • Experience in an e-commerce environment is an advantage
