  • Staffing and Training: Determine staffing requirements, hire or oversee the hiring of staff, and provide training to new employees to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor product inventories and trends in consumer buying to anticipate which products will be in demand, and order meat products as required to ensure that our shelves are always fully stocked.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer complaints and recommendations, and ensuring that our customers receive a positive experience when shopping in our meat department.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Monitor food safety requirements for meat storage and handling, and ensure that our department is always clean and well-maintained.
  • Merchandising and Display: Decide how merchandise should be displayed in our meat department, ensuring that our products are always visually appealing and easy to find.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of retail meat experience
  • Formalized meat cutting training and experience
  • Grade 12 education
  • Good command of the English language
  • Computer literate
