Overview:

Telebest is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Security Specialist. The successful candidate will be tasked with upholding security protocols at the designated site, ensuring a safe environment for authorized personnel, clients, suppliers, contractors, and visitors while protecting company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant maritime security legislation and regulations.
  • Control access to the facility and oversee the permit application process.
  • Investigate security incidents and near misses, providing detailed reports.
  • Document security events in the incident management system and communicate with appropriate authorities.
  • Implement corrective actions and suggest preventive measures.
  • Maintain compliance with the internal permit system and manage the process from request to approval.
  • Plan and execute annual emergency drills in accordance with established security codes.

Security Oversight:

  • Conduct thorough security assessments of the facilities based on established security protocols.
  • Update and maintain the facility's security plan regularly.
  • Implement and test the security plan effectively.
  • Perform biannual security risk evaluations to ensure proper control measures are in place.
  • Conduct daily security inspections and address any non-compliance immediately.
  • Maintain comprehensive security documentation, including meeting notes and incident reports.
  • Coordinate meetings with security contractors and document outcomes and actions.

Audit and Training:

  • Review the facility's security plan to ensure alignment with organizational security standards.
  • Advise management on security matters and ensure security personnel are trained in relevant regulations.
  • Ensure that security systems are functioning correctly and are regularly tested.

Leadership and Administration:

  • Develop educational programs to enhance security awareness among staff.
  • Oversee compliance with international security standards and ensure regular reviews of security roles.
  • Manage on-site security through effective contractor oversight.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures for security operations.
  • Engage with security staff to address safety and security concerns.
  • Provide leadership to the security team in executing their responsibilities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with management and external security stakeholders.
  • Participate in security meetings and maintain communication with other departments.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management regarding security status.
  • Coordinate with operational teams regarding vessel arrivals and ensure compliance with site protocols.

General Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication regarding security issues with all stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reports and deliver presentations as required.
  • Attend relevant meetings to stay informed on security matters.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree or Diploma in Security or Safety Management.
  • Certification in ISPS.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Port Security Management.
  • Possession of security clearance or willingness to obtain it.
  • Accreditation with relevant security bodies.
  • Certification in PFSO through the appropriate national authority.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of national maritime security legislation.
  • Familiarity with the ISPS Code and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Dynamic and proactive approach to security management.
