Position Overview: Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd is in search of a highly experienced Lead Concrete Engineering Specialist to become an integral part of our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all concrete-related operations throughout the entire project lifecycle. This encompasses design consultation, material selection, quality assurance, and adherence to both international standards and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct concrete-related elements of construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Offer expert guidance on concrete mix formulations, material choices, and construction methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure efficient execution of concrete tasks to the highest standards.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses and evaluations for concrete structures, recommending optimal solutions.
  • Establish and enforce quality control protocols to assess and monitor concrete performance during construction.
  • Supervise testing and inspection of concrete materials and structures to guarantee compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and site staff on best practices in concrete technology and construction techniques.
  • Remain informed about industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in concrete materials and construction practices.
  • Compile reports, documentation, and presentations related to concrete operations for internal stakeholders and clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Professional certification or licensure in Concrete Technology or an equivalent field.
  • A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in concrete technology and construction, particularly in large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for concrete mix design, testing, and analysis.
