We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Crime Prevention Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of sanctions, PEP lists, and adverse media for clients and business partners.

They will assess AML/KYC documentation for a wide range of clients from different jurisdictions and legal structures.

The specialist will perform enhanced due diligence on high-risk accounts and assist with compliance reviews.

They will guide and educate staff on financial crime prevention and effective risk management.

The candidate will investigate customer transactions and activities to spot any suspicious behavior.

They will complete client risk assessments based on various regulatory criteria.

The specialist will prepare regular reports for management and assist with general admin tasks.

They will update and maintain compliance documentation and handle due diligence queries.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate should have a degree/qualification in law, compliance, risk management, economics or a related field.

At least 5 years' experience in AML compliance, ideally within the financial services sector, is required.

A solid understanding of Money Laundering Regulations (UK/FICA) and associated financial crime risks is essential.

Familiarity with PEP screening, sanctions checks, and enhanced due diligence processes is necessary.

Knowledge of the impact of financial sanctions on institutions is also required.

Salary:

R500,000 - R700,000 per annum.
