Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Operations Coordinator to join our team at West Coast Personnel. About the Role

The Industrial Operations Coordinator will be responsible for performing reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance on all plant/infrastructure/equipment to limit potential failure and optimize production. This includes coordinating first-line maintenance to prevent plant/equipment downtime, raising job cards for maintenance work, and ensuring necessary work permits are included.

The ideal candidate will participate in fault analysis on equipment failure, approve job cards post-maintenance, and ensure equipment and work areas are safe and maintained by operators. They will also evaluate and recommend improvements to optimize factory system efficiency and reliability, troubleshoot and resolve production process or quality issues, and operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrity.

Requirements
  • Maintenance Operations and Control: Perform reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance on all plant/infrastructure/equipment to limit potential failure and optimize production.

  • Raise job cards for maintenance work, ensure necessary work permits are included.
  • Participate in fault analysis on equipment failure (Root Cause Analysis 5 WHY, 8D, etc.).
  • Approve job cards post-maintenance.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas are safe and maintained by operators.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to optimize factory system efficiency and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production process or quality issues.
  • Operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrity.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have a Matric qualification, Trade Test (NQF 5), and a BSc / BEng in Mechanical / Electrical/ Mechatronics. You should have at least 4 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment, with up to 5 years of experience in maintenance management or supervision in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years at a supervisory level.

A strong understanding of automated manufacturing equipment, computer literacy, and in-depth knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, and processes are essential. Additionally, you should have a sound knowledge of compliance with applicable legislation, safety, and manufacturing regulations, as well as strong technical skills and knowledge of machinery, tools, and equipment used in the factory.

You will need to possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to handle pressure and conflict situations. Proactive, action-oriented, and flexible individuals who can work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines will thrive in this role.
