As a leading cloud computing platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a wide range of services, including computing power, storage options, databases, analytics, machine learning, and more. Our South Africa team is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including public sector.

This role is part of the AWS Consulting Partner Ecosystem, which has grown to tens of thousands of partners worldwide, delivering key services that drive customer business outcomes. As a Partner Development Manager, you will focus on the Consulting Partners, facilitating engagement with AWS Commercial field sales teams and customers.

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing deep and trusted relationships with executive leadership of our Consulting Partners by gaining a comprehensive understanding of their challenges, goals, and long-term vision for the Africa region.
  • Developing and executing ambitious business plans with these partners to accelerate AWS adoption by customers in the region.
  • Driving AWS relationship and business practice across stakeholders ranging from Client Partners to Business unit Heads to Technical practitioners.
  • Helping these AWS Partners accelerate their cloud practices and bring to market compelling solution offerings that will help customers accelerate their cloud adoption.
  • Being a trusted advisor and thought leader capable of sharing industry insights, best practices, and strategic guidance to empower partners.
  • Collaborating with AWS sales, Marketing, Service teams, and other relevant internal teams to develop tailored transformation roadmaps to our partners and helping execute those engagements.
  • Preparing and presenting business reviews to senior leadership, both internal and external, and effectively communicating market realities, partner needs, and strategic recommendations to progress the partnership.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements experience.
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
