Objectives of this Role:

  1. Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems
  2. Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors through timely payments and being the primary contact for escalations
  3. Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process
  4. Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
  5. Comply with applicable regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the offshore AP team, located in India
  • Ensure that various SOPs are updated as needed
  • Manage the relationship with Procurement and ensure vendors are loaded timeously and appropriately
  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation and accurate posting
  • Review month-end vendor recons prior to payment
  • Obtain necessary SARB approvals for foreign payments
  • Primary contact for BBBEE-related queries on vendor spend
  • Involved in and manage ad-hoc projects in the AP space as needed
  • Assist senior financial officers as needed
  • Act as the AP escalation point for Africa

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding principles of finance and accounting
  • Superb time management skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Experience in accounts payable
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with banking tools and interfaces
  • Ability to interact at multiple levels within the organization
