About the RoleWe are seeking experienced professionals to teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department of Civil Engineering. As a senior lecturer, you will have the opportunity to supervise students, conduct research, and publish scholarly articles.
- Teach and assess students in various modules;
- Develop curriculum and teaching materials;
- Supervise students in final year projects and higher degrees;
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles;
- Raise funding from national and international agencies;
- Perform departmental duties.
- A BEng degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized institution;
- A Master's degree in Civil Engineering that follows on the previous qualification;
- Teaching or industry-related experience;
- A publication or book chapter in a commensurate field.
- Same as Lecturer, plus;
- A PhD degree in Civil Engineering that follows on the previous qualification;
- At least three years tertiary education experience or industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- Two publications in DHET accredited journals or a DHET accredited book;
- Other publication outputs in a commensurate field;
- Supervision/co-supervision of Master's students.
- Same as Senior Lecturer, plus;
- At least six years tertiary education experience or industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- Experience in curriculum/strategy development and innovation;
- Evidence of sustained publications output;
- Publishing in WoS/Scopus/IBSS journals;
- Research student supervision;
- Reviewer duties for journals/conferences.
