Fair Cape Dairy's is seeking a skilled and experienced Tanker Driver to join our team in collecting and delivering raw milk to designated farms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sample testing, customer-focused approach, and safe reversing truck procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and deliver raw milk to designated farms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols, including Code 14 (Dangerous Goods) requirements.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Valid PDP - Dangerous Goods - Heavy Duty Vehicle certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years driving experience with a clean accident record.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Own transport (advantageous).

Desirable Skills and Qualities:

  • Background in sample testing.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Safe reversing truck procedures.
  • Defensive driving.
  • Road traffic act (i.e. operating vehicle).
  • Driver actions regarding weather/road/traffic conditions.
  • Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects.
  • Vehicle inspection and operating a fire extinguisher.
  • Working with refrigerated/temperature-controlled trucks.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent travel to designated farms.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and road conditions.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
