Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SHE Coordinator to join our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Monthly SHE Meetings: Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss safety concerns, share best practices, and set goals for improvement.
  • Environmental, Safety and Health Legislation and Certification System: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain certification systems to demonstrate our commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Contractor Management: Develop and implement contractor management procedures to ensure safe working practices and minimize risks.
  • Crane and Forklift Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of cranes and forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and manage incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • HSE Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance our safety and health management systems.
  • Monthly KPIs: Track and report key performance indicators to measure our safety and health performance.
  • Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure they meet our safety and sustainability standards.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with our safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Unsafe Acts and Conditions: Identify and address unsafe acts and conditions to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Visual presence in Plants: Ensure a visible presence in our plants to promote a safety-first culture and encourage employees to report safety concerns.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Law, OHS Act, SAMTRAC, or Auditors Certification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment and a minimum of 3 years' experience in Environment and Safety.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Environmental, Health and Safety Systems: In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety systems and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Company Processes: Understanding of company processes and procedures related to safety and sustainability.
  • Relevant Legislation: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to safety and sustainability.
  • Financial Concepts: Understanding of financial concepts and their application in a safety and sustainability context.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify and manage risks to ensure business continuity.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to motivate and engage employees in safety and sustainability initiatives.
  • Strategic and Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems related to safety and sustainability.
  • Communication and Interpersonal: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make informed decisions related to safety and sustainability.
  • Presentation: Strong presentation skills to communicate safety and sustainability information to stakeholders.
  • Sound Computer Literacy & MS Office: Proficiency in computer software and MS Office applications.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety and sustainability standards.
