Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SHE Coordinator to join our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety practices across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Monthly SHE Meetings: Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss SHE-related matters, share best practices, and address concerns.
  • Environmental, Safety, and Health Legislation and Certification System: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and maintain certification systems to demonstrate our commitment to SHE excellence.
  • Contractor Management: Develop and implement contractor management procedures to ensure that all contractors adhere to our SHE standards.
  • Crane and Forklift Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of cranes and forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and manage incidents, near-misses, and hazards to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • HSE Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance our SHE performance.
  • Monthly KPIs: Track and report on key performance indicators to measure our SHE performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure they meet our SHE standards.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with our SHE policies and procedures.
  • Unsafe Acts and Conditions: Identify and address unsafe acts and conditions to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Visual Presence in Plants: Ensure that our facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Law, OHS Act, SAMTRAC, or Auditors Certification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in an automotive manufacturing environment and 3 years' experience in environment and safety.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Environmental, Health, and Safety Systems: In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety systems and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Company Processes: Familiarity with company processes and procedures related to SHE.
  • Relevant Legislation: Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to SHE.
  • Financial Concepts: Understanding of financial concepts and their application in a SHE context.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to SHE.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams to adopt a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Strategic and Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems related to SHE.
  • Communication and Interpersonal: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make informed decisions related to SHE.
  • Presentation: Strong presentation skills to communicate SHE-related information to stakeholders.
  • Sound Computer Literacy & MS Office: Proficiency in computer software and MS Office applications.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with stakeholders to achieve SHE-related goals.
