We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Compliance Officer to join our team at eThekwini Municipality.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety related standards and Municipal Fire Safety Bylaws through conducting routine fire safety inspections of buildings and facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conducting fire safety inspections to monitor compliance with relevant codes, standards, and bylaws.
- Organizing and maintaining records of inspection findings and documentation.
- Providing support to relevant Municipal departments.
- Enforcing compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Undertaking governance and risk management functions.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- Fire Fighter 1 & 2 certification.
- HAZMAT Awareness & Operations certification.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Higher Certificate in Fire Technology (NQF Level 5).
- 2 years of relevant experience.
