Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team at Network Contracting Solutions. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in managing and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments.

About the Role

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's critical database systems. Your responsibilities will include leading the management and optimization of multiple Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments, designing and implementing automated backup, rollback, and disaster recovery protocols, and collaborating with development teams to oversee data model changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management and optimization of multiple Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated backup, rollback, and disaster recovery protocols to safeguard data integrity.
  • Collaborate with development teams to oversee data model changes, including DDL scripting strategies, performance analysis, and impact assessments.
  • Conduct in-depth performance tuning, addressing indexing, query optimization, and deadlock resolution.
  • Define and enforce SQL and server security policies, including firewall, VPN management, and secure password protocols.
  • Manage Active Directory Services (ADS) for domain control, user and group policies, and ensure compliance with IT security and industry standards.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., Process Explorer, Wireshark) to proactively troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCDBA, MCSE) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server environments.
  • Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server (2008-2016), Active Directory, and data protection protocols.
  • Strong skills in T-SQL, DDL scripting, and database replication.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., Process Explorer, Wireshark).

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
