Assistant Retail Manager Job Description

Profile Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Retail Manager to join their team in Fort Beaufort. As a key member of the retail team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the shop floor, meeting monthly targets, and handling budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shop Floor Management: Oversee the daily activities of the retail team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Target Achievement: Meet and exceed monthly sales targets, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Budget Management: Handle budgets, including forecasting, planning, and controlling expenses.
  • Staff Recruitment and Training: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing retail team.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to enquiries and resolving complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Rota and Shift Management: Create and manage rotas and shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Product Display: Ensure that products are well displayed and merchandised to meet customer needs.
  • Delivery Management: Oversee the receipt and storage of deliveries, ensuring that stock is accurately recorded and stored.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position.
  • Skills: Familiarity with financial and customer service principles, good math skills, and proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel in particular).
  • Leadership and Organizational Abilities: Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem-Solving Attitude: A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Preferred Candidate: Male candidates are preferred due to the manual labour duties and nature of the business.
