Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our team at Edge Personnel. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing expert accounting and financial management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately analyze and record all financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
  • Perform bank reconciliation and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Reconcile medical aid contributions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Process petty cash and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Process month-end journals and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Manage and maintain general administration, including filing and document management.
  • Screen and respond to phone calls, emails, and other inquiries, and delegate tasks to the correct department as necessary.
  • Take minutes and implement tasks discussed in meetings.
  • Produce all documents and reports required for monthly review and reconciliation by management.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and finance houses to ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage and draft all letters and documents to be signed off by management for clients, suppliers, and staff.
  • Assist with personal errands for management as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Compt / B,Acc (Financial Accounting)
  • Completed SAICA / SAIPA Articles
  • 5 Years accounting experience within the manufacturing industry (advantageous)
  • MS Office (Advanced Excel) & Sage/ Pastel
