Role Overview
- Oversee the management of operational and risk reporting to senior management and governance bodies, ensuring that operational functions and mitigating controls are effectively implemented to reduce potential risks.
- Achieve operational and financial objectives by optimizing resource distribution and minimizing inefficiencies.
- Establish and nurture relationships to align expectations, disseminate knowledge, and foster collaboration; engage in cross-departmental partnerships for enhanced support.
- Enhance decision-making processes by delivering precise business insights and evaluating emerging trends.
- Assess project advancements, make informed decisions, and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Develop and execute a proactive strategy for risk management within the unit.
- Regularly review and refine unit processes, documenting and analyzing risk-related data.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in risk and information management to fulfill data and reporting requirements.
- Supervise the integrity of data quality controls for both inputs and outputs.
- Lead organizational transformation by partnering with stakeholders to enhance reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, policy, and governance standards.
- Stay informed on legislative changes, industry standards, and compliance protocols.
- Gain insights into risk factors, contribute to governance and compliance frameworks, and identify potential risks.
- Provide training, recommend enhancements, and engage in collaborative forums.
- Support a culture of development, work alongside colleagues, and take part in knowledge-sharing communities.
- Evaluate personal performance, identify areas for growth, and create a personal development strategy.
- Track progress against the development strategy and assess the impact of outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Requirement – Qualified CA(SA)
- Preferred Requirement – Qualified CA(SA)
- Experience Needed – 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant setting
- Work Background – Must be based in Gauteng
- Interest in data governance and/or operational risk management is essential.
