Job Description
Cognos Application Specialist
The primary objective of this role is to support the Supply Chain Operations reporting solution by administrating the Cognos Analytics environment used for Supply Chain Reporting. This involves creating, modifying, debugging, troubleshooting, and testing new or existing reports, dashboards, and SSIS ETL scripts to ensure reliable and optimal reporting server function and compliance with Shoprite standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create Framework Manager models to meet business requirements.
  • Write complex reports using various tools in Cognos Analytics following development protocols, quality assurance, and release procedures.
  • Create dimensional models (Cubes) for drill-through and intuitive dashboard creation.
  • Deliver development projects, manage releases, and maintain delivery on projects while driving continuous improvement.
  • Mentor Development teams.
  • Administer secure access to Cognos Analytics, managing user profiles, access control, and capabilities.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Information Systems / B.Sc. Computer Science (advantageous).
  • Cognos Analytics certification – essential.
