Senior Actuarial Specialist

About the Role

Old Mutual is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Specialist to join our Legacy and Product Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering market-leading investment solutions in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate product rules, business optimization, and feasibility studies, including product strategy.
  • Own and manage customer data and its use within the area.
  • Oversight of the delivery of management information reports.
  • Product enhancements and implementation, including system testing.
  • Documentation, including product specifications.
  • Support Proposition Management, Distribution channels, Servicing areas, and Technical Marketing functions in the ongoing maintenance and support of our Retail Investment propositions.
  • Provide support to IT in managing current product set on our product admin system.
  • Support across the PF, OM Wealth, and Corporate Segments for various initiatives and projects.
  • Product reviews and recommending decisive action relating to customer value for money.
  • Automate processes and reports using programming/coding techniques.

Requirements

  • Qualified actuary or Senior Actuarial student making good progress with exams with at least 4 years actuarial experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of actuarial models used to support the above-mentioned products.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team and across teams.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Motivated self-starter who shows initiative, is proactive, and looks for ways to improve existing processes.
  • Able to complete tasks within agreed timelines with limited guidance.
  • High levels of drive, energy, and innovation.
  • Programming knowledge and experience with SQL will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Old Mutual's Retail Savings and Income products, IT platforms, and processes will be advantageous.
