Job Title: Investment Portfolio Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Portfolio Analyst to join our team at Guardian Recruiting. As an Investment Portfolio Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Portfolio Management team in the analysis and management of investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior team members to provide meaningful analysis and support to manage a suite of portfolios.
  • Provide portfolio analytics services to discretionary managed clients.
  • Monitor and assess incumbent and current managers alongside the portfolio managers and investment research teams.
  • Develop an understanding of client portfolios and products that target different investment objectives.
  • Ensure portfolios are up-to-date on relevant systems and execute Portfolio Manager's instructions accurately and timely.
  • Analyze and monitor exposures and risks around portfolios on an ongoing basis.
  • Support the Portfolio Management team in various tasks.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of macroeconomics.
  • Portfolio construction and manager research experience beneficial.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Understanding of key risk, performance, and attribution concepts.
  • Safeguards integrity of sensitive client data.
  • Deals with large quantities of portfolio and market data.
  • Understanding of portfolio and instrument-level information.
  • Quick learner.
  • Strong passion for investments.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good time management and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Communicates clearly and politely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work independently but also be a team player.
  • Uses initiative, is proactive, and possesses problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to put in long hours when needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ensure delivery of outputs and maintain a high-quality standard.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Use of Morningstar, Bloomberg, FactSet, and programming languages like R, Python, and Matlab advantageous.
