Financial Expert: Driving Accuracy and Efficiency

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • B Comm Honours or equivalent
  • CIMA qualification

This position requires advanced accounting expertise, administrative ability, understanding of company policy, operational knowledge, numeric ability, creditors knowledge, reconciliation skills, budgeting skills, F8 knowledge, ratio analysis skills, free cashflow management, consolidated results preparation, CaseWare proficiency, analysis and review ability, processing and synthesis ability, understanding of cash flow process, knowledge of accounting processes, stock purchasing process understanding, FHG commission structure knowledge, audit process knowledge and understanding, experience in the production of Management accounts

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing individual and group consolidated financial statements
  • Reviewing cashflow vs cashflow targets on a monthly basis
  • Updating and reviewing the "open to buy" targets
  • Preparing and controlling annual expense budget based on company parameters
  • Managing and controlling expenses per budget
  • Preparing financial section of the Board Pack
  • Analysing and reviewing discrepancies
  • Ensuring that all expense is accounted for and accrued in the correct period
  • Checking that management accounts are issued within 5 working days of the new month
  • Ensuring that hours worked are reconciled
  • Ensuring that volumes delivered and cost per kg is reconciled
  • Taking accountability for all accounts to be fully reconciled and any reconciling items to be addressed
  • The accuracy of all balance sheet account reconciliations in terms of raising accruals and pre-payments
  • Calculating premiums and finance charges
  • Completing postings
  • Co-ordinating and managing Botswana payroll
  • Managing and co-ordinating promotional items
  • Producing breakdown of logistics methods
