Job Title: Accounts Receivable Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team at Future Africa Consulting (Pty)Ltd.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and minimizing credit risk. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing the accounts receivable ledger, including posting and reconciling customer payments, to ensure accurate records and minimize errors.
  2. Analyzing aged debt reports to identify overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts, thereby reducing bad debt exposure.
  3. Communicating with customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding invoices and arrange payment terms, maintaining positive relationships while ensuring prompt payment.
  4. Negotiating payment plans and settlements with customers to resolve delinquent accounts efficiently, while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  5. Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies or disputes promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  6. Monitoring credit limits and assessing creditworthiness of new and existing customers to minimize potential losses.
  7. Preparing and distributing monthly statements, reminder letters, and collection notices to keep customers informed and compliant.
  8. Collaborating with internal departments, such as Sales, Customer Service, and Finance, to address customer queries and improve billing processes.
  9. Providing regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collections activity, and cash flow projections for management review, facilitating informed decision-making.

Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) as an Accounts Receivable Manager, Credit Controller, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and regulations related to credit and collections.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Certification in credit management is an advantage.

Salary Estimate: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
