Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Accounts Payable Function
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely reconciliations
    • Manage the preparation of monthly, weekly, and daily payment batches
    • Resolve supplier queries in conjunction with the Recon Clerks to ensure all queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Lead and Develop Team
    • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Ensure Compliance and Accuracy
    • Ensure all relevant documentation is accurately captured and up to date
    • Review and approve all accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support Business Operations
    • Assist with month-end reporting and provide financial insights to support business decision-making
    • Support audit requirements for internal and external engagements
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Matric with higher grade Maths and Accounting
    • Diploma/Degree in Financial Accounting
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role
    • Proven experience in managing a team of accounting professionals
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
