Key Responsibilities- Concept Design: Develop new and innovative concept designs, including sketches, calculations, drawings, and product specifications, as well as conducting basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and interpreting results.
- Final Design: Finalize concept designs for manufacturability, including sketches, calculations, drawings, and product specifications, as well as conducting basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and interpreting results.
- Design Evaluation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of FMEA reviews, ensuring that designs meet quality and safety standards.
- Costing and BOM: Generate costing spreadsheets and Bill of Materials (BOM) for products, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assembly and Testing: Assemble development products, compile test parameters, conduct trials, and generate and interpret results.
- Design and Documentation: Create accurate and thorough vehicle measurements, transfer them into CAD for design and approval, and submit drawings to customers for approval.
- Machining and Tooling: Generate new CNC machining programs, review and optimize existing programs, and design and coordinate tooling manufacture.
- Production Handover: Generate production information, manage production handover meetings, and train new product introduction teams.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure full compliance to ISO standards, identify and implement product and process quality improvements, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Proven experience using CAD software, proficient at Autodesk Inventor.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Design Engineer.
- Automotive industry-related experience.
- Strong work ethics and integrity.
- Proven technical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering systems.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings and designs.
- Knowledge of various materials and their properties.
- Capability to create prototypes and conduct tests.
- Strong technical communication skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities.
- Attention to detail and great computational and creative ability.
