The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Ensure that all health and safety protocols are in place and followed by employees, contractors, and clients.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate these risks.
- Contractor Management: Oversee the management of contractors, including site safety procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Operations Management: Manage materials, labor records, site costing, and equipment compliance to ensure smooth project execution.
- Culture Development: Promote a safety-first culture within the organization through leadership, professionalism, and teamwork.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A diploma or relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- SACPCMP registration is mandatory for this position.
- Health and safety certifications, including First Aid, HIRA, FPPD, and Legal Liability.
- A valid driver's license.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
