UI Designer Job Description

We are seeking a talented and creative UI Designer to join our team at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd. As a UI Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for digital products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand user requirements and translate them into visually stunning interface designs.
  • Design user interfaces for applications, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.
  • Develop and maintain design guidelines, style guides, and UI patterns to ensure consistency across our digital products.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement and refine UI designs, ensuring feasibility and optimal user experience.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and make iterative improvements to designs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies, and apply them to enhance the visual appeal and usability of our applications.
  • Work closely with the front-end development team to ensure seamless integration of design elements and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the back-end development team to understand technical requirements and constraints for UI implementation.
  • Utilize cloud technologies, specifically Google Cloud, to optimize the performance and scalability of our applications.

Requirements:

  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • Relevant design related degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of proven work experience as a UI Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and projects.
  • Graphic design experience
  • Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, InDesign, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
  • Solid knowledge of front-end technologies, including Flutter, Angular, and React.
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Node, Spring, and.NET Core.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, with a primary focus on Google Cloud.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and explain design concepts clearly and persuasively.
