Job Description:

The role of Department Manager (Pick/Check/Pack) is a critical position within the Clicks Group Limited's distribution operations. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire distribution process, including stock receipt, storage, and control, order assembly, and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all stock processes, ensuring accurate and efficient receipt, sorting, packing away, bin maintenance, stock transfers, quarantining, returns, and stock control activities.
  2. Comply with legal requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs), under the directives of the Managing Pharmacist, regarding stock quarantine and management.
  3. Identify and minimize risks associated with handling stock, including theft, pilferage, damages, expiry, cold chain breaches, and inaccurate supplies against invoices.
  4. Oversee quarterly stock counts and implement special and cycle counts.
  5. Assemble stock against invoices, including picking, packing, and checking orders.
  6. Manage the dispatch of stock.
  7. Handle customer returns, salvaging stock, and destroying stock (under the Managing Pharmacist's directives).
  8. Maintain health and safety, security, and compliance with relevant legislation and SOPs.
  9. Ensure warehouse housekeeping, staff safety, and equipment maintenance.
  10. Manage distribution contracts, including storage, stock control, order assembly, and dispatch.
  11. Develop and manage budgets for operations and reporting progress.
  12. Oversee capital expenditure, motivating purchases and complying with processes.
  13. Lead the staffing of the operation, performance management, and conduct, in line with employment policies.
  14. Address discrepancies, procedure breaches, or non-compliance issues from internal audits.

Education and Experience:

  • Rlevant business degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in wholesale Pharmaceutical Industry
  • SAP and KNAPP system knowledge or relevant WMS experience
  • High proficiency in report generation from WMS and Excel
