A leading player in the manufacturing industry requires an accomplished Finance Manager to provide strong financial leadership. This role involves planning regional budgets, business planning and day-to-day management of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a global office environment and be immediately available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on complex financial and operational matters to department leaders
  • Liaise with senior management to explain results, identify areas for improvement, manage projects and understand operations
  • Manage daily accounting activities, ensure control is in place and oversee team performance and development
  • Oversee accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory/cost accounting and revenue recognition
  • Lead month-end closing, prepare monthly financial statements and operational reports
  • Analyse variances (material/labour/overheads) and communicate explanations to management with proposed actions
  • Calculate activity-based costing, standard costing and pricing
  • Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets and statement of cash flows for the region
  • Collaborate across organisational boundaries and levels to achieve regional and corporate objectives
  • Train new staff and existing staff
  • Share best practices across global finance/plant controller, i.e. process improvements, financial modelling and procedure changes
  • Implement and maintain plant internal controls necessary to ensure reporting integrity
  • Responsible for working capital management, cash forecasting and liaising with suppliers and customers to improve working capital management, cash collections, stretched payments etc.
  • Lead year-end audit activities

Requirements:

  • CA (SA) / Professionally Registered Accountant / CIMA with completed articles
  • 10 years experience in a multinational organisation as a Finance Manager/Finance Controller within the manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and ORACLE/SAGE/IFS financial software skills, experience with OneStream and Power BI systems
  • Excellent financial control and reporting skills and ensuring that all statutory and corporate obligations are met
  • Effective communication with management, public groups, colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills, internally and with clients
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients and staff in charge

The estimated salary for this role is R850,000 - R1,050,000 per annum, depending on experience. The location is Paarl, and the contract duration is 6 months.
