We are a leading agricultural company, MPRTC, seeking an experienced Greenhouse Specialist to join our team in the coastal Natal region of South Africa.
Job Summary:
As a Greenhouse Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our greenhouses, ensuring optimal growing conditions for a variety of crops. Your expertise in agronomy, soil science, and plant nutrition will be invaluable in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain greenhouses to ensure optimal growing conditions.
- Monitor and control temperature, humidity, and light levels.
- Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to minimize crop damage.
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement sustainable agricultural practices.
- Conduct regular soil tests to optimize fertilizer applications.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of agronomy, soil science, and plant nutrition.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
