Job Description: Chief Financial Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Strategist to drive financial excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance across our organization. This role goes beyond traditional finance functions; it's about leading financial innovation and leveraging cutting-edge automation systems and ERP/data warehouse technologies to streamline processes and improve data insights.

  • Financial Leadership: Ensure precise, timely financial reporting, optimize cash flow, and lead budget and forecast management to empower Voadera's long-term growth.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Drive the implementation of automation initiatives, using ERP and data warehousing to elevate operational efficiency and data transparency.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Develop and execute compliance strategies, conduct audits, and design risk mitigation tactics to protect and strengthen our financial health.
  • Strategic Financial Guidance: Provide proactive financial advice, conduct cost analyses to maximize profitability, and collaborate across departments to champion growth initiatives.
  • Team Development: Inspire and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.

Responsibilities and Expectations

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in driving financial success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring cash flow, preparing cash flow statements, and providing recommendations for improving liquidity and managing working capital effectively.
  • Providing financial guidance, including cost analysis, to identify areas for improvement and increase profitability.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, balance sheet systems along with other reports via our ERP system.
  • Developing and implementing financial forecasting models and conducting variance analysis to compare actual results with forecasts and budgets.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding financial and accounting practices.
  • Conducting financial audits to reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy.
  • Developing and executing risk mitigation strategies and internal controls.
  • Implementing and continuously improving automation systems and processes, ensuring efficient use of data warehouse and ERP.
  • Leading and developing the finance and accounting team, providing mentorship and training.
  • Communicating effectively with different departments to ensure smooth inventory and finance operations.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing department to optimize product profitability and explore growth avenues.
  • Coordinating inventory reporting of receipt and consumption activities via Business Central, Amazon, Walmart, and Grade B Subledgers.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory valuations and inventory reserve calculations.
  • Managing payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices and credit cards.
  • Leading or participating in M&A activities, evaluating potential acquisitions and ensuring financial due diligence.
  • Maintaining meticulous bookkeeping records to provide transparency and comfort to partners.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on e-commerce or retail industries preferred.
  • Proven experience in tax compliance, IRS regulations, financial statement preparation, and cash flow management.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
  • Experience in preparing for and managing external audits, ensuring all financial statements and records are accurate and compliant.
  • Strong ERP experience, preferably with Odoo.
  • SQL and Data Warehouse experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory subledgers and perpetual inventory systems.
  • Ability to create and analyze complex financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Walmart.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Educational and Professional Credentials

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
