Job Title: Sr. Director, Human Resources

Our client, a leading FinTech company in Africa, is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join their team as Sr. Director, Human Resources. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on HR leader to drive business growth and success.

Job Summary

The Sr. Director, Human Resources will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company's business objectives. This includes designing and proposing HR strategies, guidelines, and procedures to meet the company's short and long-term needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and CTO to identify HR problems and provide leadership and support in finding solutions.
  • Design, propose, and implement HR strategies, guidelines, and procedures to meet the company's requirements.
  • Implement training and development interventions to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Onboard new hires and provide coaching and mentoring to employees.
  • Manage the performance review process and ensure compliance with labor legislation.
  • Provide local insight to corporate guidelines and procedures and manage the administration and implementation of employee training and development programs, salary structure, performance appraisals, and recognition.
  • Secure professional legal support from internal and external legal counsel as required.
  • Assist in articulating the company's values and culture.
  • Organize and supervise HR/Personnel services to recruit, develop, and motivate highly qualified personnel to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment firms and interview candidates using various methods.
  • Coordinate with Engineering team leaders to forecast department goals and hiring needs.
  • Promote the company's reputation as a great place to work.
  • Conduct job and task analyses to document job duties and requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, IT, or a relevant field.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices and labor legislation.
  • 2 years of experience with training and development.
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and manage people.
  • Strong business mind and accountability.
  • Ability to create and manage processes and projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced international and multicultural environment.
