About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Buyer (Technical) to lead our procurement efforts in Amanzimtoti. This role requires someone with excellent technical knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and place purchase orders with suppliers while ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Maintain accurate supplier master data to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Liaise with production, engineering, and transporters to forecast and manage purchases.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and document exchange regarding goods delivered or ordered.
  • Evaluate and report on supplier performance by monitoring incoming materials, quality, and service delivery.
  • Negotiate prices with vendors to ensure commercial sustainability.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and reviews of slow-moving stocks and spares.
  • Provide updates on critical spares holdings and perform inventory valuations.

Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 certification
  • At least 35 years of experience in purchasing Chemicals, Engineering, or Mining products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of buying and procurement principles
  • Good technical knowledge, planning, and organizing skills
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word and Excel
  • Experience in SYSPRO or equivalent software

Salary Estimate:

Ranging from R11,000 to R13,000 per month, based on location and experience.
